Chargers Game Recap
The Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The Chargers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s American Football Conference (AFC) West division. The Chargers play their home games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, which the club shares with the Los Angeles Rams.
The franchise began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL), and spent its first season in Los Angeles, before moving to San Diego in 1961. The Chargers joined the NFL as result of the AFL–NFL merger in 1970, and played their home games at San Diego Stadium until 1983. In 1984, Jack Murphy, then-owner of San Diego Stadium, convinced the NFL to let his team move back to Los Angeles; however, he was forced to sell San Diego Stadium to real estate developer Ed Roski immediately afterward. The city had attempted to build a stadium earlier on several occasions; however, eachtime these plans failed. As a result, when Hollywood Park Racetrack was purchased by Roski with an option to build an NFL stadium on site and were subsequently approved for relocation by league owners in 1984 on a conditional basis giving them until 1990 to secure financing for construction. The Chargers then announced their return to LA on January 12, 2017.
The 2017 season was their inaugural season back in Los Angeles.

Chargers Game Interviews
The Los Angeles Chargers are getting ready to take on the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game this Sunday, and we had a chance to catch up with some of the team’s key players to get their thoughts on the big game.
Safety Derwin James said he’s excited for the opportunity to play against one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. “It’s a great opportunity,” James said. “To be able to go against Tom Brady, it’s something that I’ve dreamed of since I was a little kid.”
Linebacker Thomas Davis, who will be playing in his first AFC Championship game, said he’s trying to stay calm and not let the moment get too big for him. “I’m just trying to take it all in,” Davis said. “This is a huge game and there’s a lot riding on it, but at the end of the day it’s still just football.”
Quarterback Philip Rivers echoed those sentiments, saying that while he understands the magnitude of the game, he’s just trying to focus on doing his job. “This is what you work all season for,” Rivers said. “To be one game away from the Super Bowl is an incredible feeling, but at the end of the day I just have to go out there and play my game.”
The Chargers will be looking to dethrone the defending champion Patriots and earn a trip to Super Bowl LIII when they square off this Sunday at 12:05 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
